Carnicas J. Colomer Sau

In 1980, CARNICAS J COLOMER SA, the first company in the group, was founded. The company started with 3 workers and was dedicated exclusively in forequarters deboning mainly for national sale.

On January 1, 1986, Spain entered the European Union. This accession greatly benefited the company, expanding its borders throughout Europe from then until today.

Starting in 1988, CARNICAS J COLOMER, thanks to exports, we started deboning hindquarters making the entire beef carcass.

Despieces carnicos Olot SLU

Due to the growing demand for mutton meat from our clients, in 1990 we established the company DESPIECES CARNICOS OLOT SLU specialized in mutton meat.

In the year 2000, in line with the evolution of food safety, we were certified for the first time by the ISO 9002 food standards..

In 2008 we inaugurated the third company FRIGORIFICS LES PRESES SL, a warehouse for the storage of COLOMER, COPAMEATS and DCO products as well as the freezing and cold maintenance service for third parties with a total space of 12,000 cubic meters.

In 2013 we officially inaugurated the new production lines for both MUTTON and BEEF meat in Las Presas next to the cold storage warehouse. Consolidating all our production processes in the same facility.

In 2014, a year after moving our production processes to new facilities, our group was certified by the strictest quality standards of the moment: IFS (International Food Standard) and BRC (British Retail Consortium).

Copa meats

In 2014 we started the new project of deboning goat carcasses under our new brand COPA MEATS expanding our product sourcing

In 2020 our plant has been correctly approved under the ANIMAL WELFARE seal. With this certification we want to highlight our commitment to improving attitudes in terms of good, respectful and sustainable practices towards animals.

In 2021 we have approved our plant for the production and storage of ECOLOGICAL products, thus guaranteeing that all products packaged under this seal comply with the quality and animal protection required by regulations.

In 2023 we will install 1,400 solar panels.
With this installation, we aim to improve our sustainability while enhancing our competitiveness in terms of energy consumption.
